Paul Simon, CFA

Founder

Paul's path to investing wasn't linear; he started in engineering, moved into investment banking, and discovered his passion for understanding what makes companies truly exceptional. His time at SPARX Asset Management (Tokyo), as deputy head of the Asia Investment Division, deepened his conviction that India's most compelling opportunities lie in small, underappreciated businesses run by entrepreneurs who think differently.

Having lived in 6 countries and traveled to over 70, Paul brings a natural curiosity about how businesses adapt to different markets and cultures. This cross-cultural lens helps him see patterns others might miss, understanding how successful business models from other markets could thrive in India's unique context. He is particularly drawn to companies where strong fundamentals meet untapped potential, the kind of businesses that can transform industries when given the right capital and partnerships.

When Paul's not buried in investment research, he's out exploring Japan's incredible outdoors—hiking, diving and skiing depending on the season.
